Playnite is constantly unticking the "installed" checkmark on a game - Reflection - 01-06-2022

I installed a game via GOG Galaxy outside of Playnite recently, and when Playnite failed to recognize the installation I just manually set the path, ticked "game is installed," and added the .exe as a Play action, but my manual adjustments are reset every single time I exit the program (which means that I can't launch the game from Playnite). Is there something to telling Playnite that a game is installed that I'm just not getting?

Installation status is completely handled by a specific integration. If GOG integration says that game is installed, Playnite will set it to uninstalled.

Try repairing game's installation in Galaxy client, that usually fixes it.

That doesn't seem to have done anything.

I've uninstalled the game and reinstalled it through the Playnite menu, I've tried to repair the installation in GOG, I've removed the game from the Playnite library, then uninstalled it, then added it back to Playnite, then installed it again... I really don't know what else to do about it at this point.

Then it means that Galaxy is broken and it's not creating necessary registry keys we use to detect if a game is installed. Does it happen just with this game or with others installed via Galaxy as well?

So far I've only had trouble with this one specific title. It's Ghost of a Tale, for whatever that's worth.

I've worked around it somewhat by importing the .exe as a non-GOG game. A little annoying that it won't populate with the other GOG titles, but maybe better not to force too many programs to communicate.
