Thanks very much for this plugin! I'd love to see it updated for Playnite v8. Having Oculus support is unique across PC launchers as far as I know.

I have noticed a few things:
  • Oculus importing is very, very slow
  • Not using .p* extension
  • Games are imported using the executable name sometimes, not the display name
  • Importing does not retrieve features, categories, genres, release date, and other metadata
Thanks!

Hi Shawson. Are you still updating oculus library extension?
Will it be possible to do what Mellified asked for one and a half years ago?

RE: Oculus library plugin - Mellified - 11-08-2021

Is there anyone willing to work on this library plugin? Oculus library support unique to Playnite, but with the upgrade to version 9 this has been left behind. I'm willing to put up a $50 bounty to help support the work.

I also want this, so I might take you up on that bounty depending on how much needs doing. I took a quick glance this afternoon and it doesn't seem horrendous (he said, optimistically, having never written C# before). I'll see if I can find time to set up a development environment and get it building and testing after work some time when the holidays are over.

Mr Ransel published the Oculus plugin today!

RE: Oculus library plugin - Mellified - 01-11-2022

I saw that! I installed it this morning and it seems to work as expected.

Thanks @mr_ransel ! I'll get in touch.

Thanks @Mellified! I'll tell you what. I'll send you my venmo, you send me $5, and do me a solid and donate the rest to a good cause and we'll call it even. :) I'm sure they'll put it to better use than I would. I learned something new along the way.

A gentleman and a scholar! Thanks so much. I have donated $50 to the Wounded Warrior Project and sent $10 your way so you can buy an extra extra large coffee!

Happy to have this unique feature restored and my Oculus PC games back in Playnite!

RE: Oculus library plugin - CDub87 - 02-28-2022

The most recent update to this plugin now imports all games, whether they are installed or not. Is there a way to stop it from doing this?

RE: Oculus library plugin - derbius - 07-03-2022

I am new to this excellent piece of software... where would I find @mr_ransel s plugin for Oculus? It would be extra-great if there were a set of different filters that would let you (for example) see all Oculus Rift-compatible games whether on Steam or on the Oculus app itself...

RE: Oculus library plugin - Mellified - 07-04-2022

You can download the Oculus library plugin from Addons -> Browse -> Libraries in Playnite. It will import your installed Oculus PC games. Once that's done you can use filters to look at all VR games.
