How to minimize to tray while in fullscreen mode? - Nissin Warrior - 03-03-2021
I like using fullscreen mode but I have to completely close the program every time because it won't minimize to tray.
Is there any way to do that? Thanks!

Minimize to tray is not supported in Fullscreen since it's designed to be controller with a controller which would make it impossible to restore it from tray.

While Crow did incorrectly say 'impossible,' the notion still stands. Playnite can't be brought back from minimized with a standard XInput device which is going to be the primary input device for fullscreen mode. I say this being in the camp of wanting a minimize feature for Fullscreen and using a controller profiler to control my entire OS with a Dualshock 4. But you have to look at it from the primary use case workflow. Putting keyboard and mouse bindings on a controller is not the norm, it's the fringe. So if a minimize button were added to Fullscreen Mode, a vast majority of users would minimize it and then not be able to do anything until they returned to their keyboard/mouse. That is poor UX for a mode/UI that is intended to be controlled primarily with an XInput device. Crow would end up seeing a surge of messages of upset users who had bad experiences with the software.
The decision to exclude the minimize function from Fullscreen Mode is an intentional one. I'd like to see a poweruser workaround (maybe allow minimizing from "Alt+Space, N") that wouldn't be user facing at all so it would never accidentally be pressed by the average use but I understand why the basic minimize feature isn't implemented.

Or maybe give an option in settings to disable the minimize function in fullscreen mode? Just wondering if it's possible. Coz for now using Desktop mode + Controller companion with Guide button mapped to a Playnite.Desktop.exe, which working flawlessly as minimize/restore button (well, not minimize, but restore). Or, again, as u suggest, to give some keyboard combination. Anyway, i guess "casual" user won't use Playnite at all.
