Playnite Sounds only allows mp3 format for game music and I find this restrictive when OSTs use a format other than mp3. Also some old PC games store their BGM files as WAV files.

I have an idea for Playnite Sounds Extras - Pick a non-mp3 music file, use a music conversion program to convert a copy of this file to mp3 format then import the mp3 into the Playnite Sounds plugin

Anybody want to recommend a music conversion program?

Essential Requirements:
  • Command Line - must be able to operate the conversion entirely by command line. Ideally this operation should run hidden/no gui.
  • Price - must be free (Open source is a plus but not essential)
  • Dependencies - the conversion program should not require additional software installed
  • Support format conversions:
    • WAV to MP3
    • OGG to MP3
    • (Desirable but not essential) FLAC to MP3
    • (Desirable but not essential) WMA to MP3
    • (Desirable but not essential) AAC to MP3

Desirable Features:
  • Speed - conversion shouldn't take a long time to run.
  • Install size - Smaller is better
  • Lite - Prefer a lite program over feature bloat
