PS5ish - A PS5 UI Inspired Theme

I've just installed your latest update, it's the first time I'm installing themes on playnite, I've tried to follow all instructions, but the video trailers never show, is there something I have to press to make them show up?

Ok I just found that I do find the video if I select the game from all Games, then it will display the video, but on the main page it will not, is this correct behavior? Because I've watched the presentation video, and it seemed like the videos also displayed on the first few games, did not have to go in all games to see the videos

I got it need to press X or A on the icon of the game to show more details, was using mouse couldn't figure it out

I've been stuck with this issue for the past 2 days on both simplish and ps5ish. I cant get microtrailers or trailers to work at all
Here is what i have installed
-i have extra metadata tools 1.5.1, extra metadata tools  video 1.2, dkg theme modifier 1.0.6, ps5ish, and simplish latest.

here is what i have tried
-tried exact instructions of the guide for portable installation and program installation of playnite. currently, im on program installation.
-tools are enabled, trailers are enabled in dkg theme modifier
-i tried installing metadata tools video 1.0 then upgraded to 1.1 then 1.2
-i selected downloaded youtube trailer that i got from youtube-dl exe and chose that as video trailer. i also chose the correct ffmpeg, ffplay, and ffprobe files.
-i stream downloaded microtrailers for all my games from extra metadata tools and it said it was set for all my games. i can play the video is the directory it downloaded and saved them in but they wont play in neither of the themes.

I haven't been able to see one video in full screen mode on ps5ish or simplish. none of that made a difference.
the only thing i have seen extra metadata tools do is stream download a logo and then immediately after, the game was deleted from my library in desktop mode but i can see the game in fullscreen mode with the changed logo. I'm ready to give up on trailers because nothing seems to make a difference for me.

when i click any game in full screen mode on ps5ish or simplish, i get the game details and on the top i see a small black screen. to the right of is a button to make it bigger, a button for sound off, and a button that shows the square picture

Do you have Windows Media Player installed? XAML applications (which playnite is) require Windows Media Player to be able to play Media Elements.
Another thing to try would be to install a desktop theme like Stardust and see if the trailers work there.

I have the same issue here. I'm using Windows 10 N, which is without the Windows Media crapware...

Is there an alternative way to display video's in XAMP-application/Playnite?

We cannot add stuff like this via themes in Playnite v8. In Playnite v9 we'll be able to add UI elements via extensions to themes, it will then be achievable to use custom media players. Until then there is no other way than to have Windows Media Player installed.

hi , so I dont now if this is just me but after the last update when i open an emulated game ( retroArch ,yuzu ,citra ,rpcs3 ... ) and close the game the theme just stays stuck and i need to alt tab and alt tab back for it to accept the controller input again .

It looks like something is stealing focus, your playnite is showing but it is not focused, which is why you need to Alt-Tab to it to get focus. It could be an extension?

Try disabling all of the extensions and see if you still have the issue.

Does this happen with the default theme? Does this only happen for emulated games?

first i thought its just emu games ( sense i having playing metroid ) but now i tried other games like KH3 and they have the same problem

After you come back from the games you can just press down to select the games row again, no need for Alt-Tab. I'm not sure why it's not re-focusing, I'll look into it.

ok thanks , pressing down doesn't work too only alt tab or pressiing the option icon ( with mouse ) and then backing by the controller , its a weird bug hhhhh

The initial theme animation is incorrect, and when exiting a game the game selection square is out of place responded to the game just played and is even bigger for a moment, none of this was happening before

DKG Theme Modifer does not show anything in "customize" tab for this theme. Is that normal or should I see some options there? (Last version of both the theme and DGK modifier)
