Hi,
I had just been evaluating Playnite, and I had a question and few ideas.
The question is regarding the database. Is it administerable using LiteDB.Studio? I could not find a .db file, just the Json. (This also feeds into suggestions).
In terms of features, Playnite seems to follow suit of Launchbox, and other clients, of focusing on "launching" things. For my purposes, I would look most at features to do with the database itself, for instance direct access to that (i.e. in terms of comparing with disk), extraction of metadata to general complete format, and also import. I know there is a basic exporter, however this does not do all the metadata and as software changes over the years I need to be able to get data in and out quickly(some 20k records currently). Having the json local is great, but unusable without the tool to find things (i.e. its not easily human usable to find things). Import is another area, as mentioned I already have (currently in Excel but has been in various systems before) metadata covering some 20k records. I don't mind adding some information but not to recreate it all. Simple importer seems to help, but some sort of formatted import procedure would be beneficial.
I would also suggest user created fields, just a few, for things not in the database. For instance grouping at a higher level, Batman Arkham Knight for instance is in the Arkham Series, but it is also under a more generic group of Batman games.
Essentially what I seek is more of an organiser than a launcher.
Thanks
