I thought it would be interesting to see how people use Playnite in terms of their visual setup.

Here's mine, pretty vanilla, nothing special :)

These days I mostly use the Grid view in conjonction with the explorer. This allows me to have a quick overview of games depending on their genre (which I setup myself using categories because genres imported from Steam/GOG often make things more bloated and unclear than they need to be, in my opinion) and works similary to how I used to browse my Steam library:

When I need to use more filters or to sort differently I usually fall back to Details view:

Here's Mine! I have mine sorted into two categories- games I'm currently playing or want to play, and the games I want my girlfriend to try. Honestly nothing super special here but loving it so far.

Here's my setup.  Pretty vanilla grid arrangement, using explorer on the left.  I also have the filters on the right when I want more fine-tuned filtering.

That's the estimated time to beat the game, from howlongtobeat.com.
The categories I have are: 0-1 hour, 1-5 hours, 5-10 (just showns as "10"), 10-20, 20-30, 30-40, 40-50 and 50+

I like to do that so I know how long I'm comitting to when picking something from my backlog.

Here's my current setup. It's pretty barebones, but overall I've been really happy with it.I disabled the background image from the forefront and instead I'm using it for a nice blurred effect that is unique to each game. The cover art is using Steam's new library size of 600x900. I fought with myself over if I liked GOG's new size of 342x482 or Steams. Ended up going with Steams since I like the cover art to be a bit bigger so the higher resolution helped with clarity. GOGs was a bit blurry at times. On the left I like to have all of my games listed. Since Playnite bolds the installed games it's easy to go through and if I want to quickly search something I have either the search bar at the top or I can just start typing the name of the game I want to play and Playnite pulls it right up.

Thanks for this idea. I'm going to implement this into a tag though (probably something like "TTF X" for "Time to Finish [hours]") so that it's sortable. I can view the time in the details so I know what I'm getting into (just like your implementation) but I can also sort by time if I'm looking for a specific type of experience.

First time I have ever seen someone using my spanish translation Big Grin

So on-topic

So I just switched to using the Grid mode after using the Details View forever. The option to "darken" unninstalled games is great because I can quickly see what is installed or not and I can quickly switch between categories using the explorer panel.

I fit the covers to a 4:3 space as best as possible since that's the aspect ratio human vision is. 1:1 because I like the PS4 style and perfect squares look very nice to me.

My suggestion for the next versions is the option to rounded icons. I know that is possible now, but you need to search one by one... I mean something like we already have in GOG Galaxy 2.,  something like that or just the option to crop the icon in rounded form

Anyway... that's my setup

You should be able to do that with custom theme (cropping part). Or implement custom metadata plugin that would fetch them from somewhere (you can then download icons in bulk).

Yeah, that is what I've done... I downloaded them all. But it would be great to have this feature built in playnite. But I'll try these alternatives while it doesn't bring this possibility

Tks

I switch between full screen and desktop often, so I got my desktop version reflecting a full screen layout.
