Just install the theme. Then set your preferred Columns for Horizontal Layout and preferred Rows for Grid View.

Micro Trailers are used on the Cover Images in the Main view, Trailers are used in the Game Details view.
To add Micro Trailers and Trailers please use the extension Extra Metadata Tools Video by darklinkpower, found here: https://playnite.link/forum/thread-575.html

To use Video Intro’s, you will need to install the DKG Theme Modifier, this will have a check box to enable Video Intro’s.
You will need to copy your video to:

%APPDATA%\Playnite\ExtraMetadata\Themes\Fullscreen\PlayniteModernUI

Your video needs to be named:

IntroVideo.mp4

Videos are muted by default so they do not collide with Playnite Sounds on Startup, you can unmute the Video Intro in the DKG Theme Modifier.

-- Extra Metadata Tools --
This Extension allows you to add Logo's for each game. All media is retained in the Extra Metadata Tools folder so is not deleted upon theme updates.
You'll need to go to https://playnite.link/forum/thread-575.html and follow any instructions for installation of the plugin.
 
You should see a pop up like below when starting my theme for the first time with this extension installed, just click OK and restart Playnite and it will all be working. If you don't see this pop up please restart Playnite until you do.

-- Tutorial - Quick Guide To Add Images -- 

This is a quick guide to adding images more easily for this theme.
For Cover Images click the "G" like below, then replace the word "cover" with imagesize:1024x1024 site:store.playstation.com like below. This will find images only from the Playstation Store, you can remove site:store.playstation.com if you don't want images just from there. 


For Background Images click the "G" like below, then replace the word "wallpaper" with imagesize:3840x2160 site:store.playstation.com like below. This will find images only from the Playstation Store, you can remove site:store.playstation.com if you don't want images just from there.


For any of the imagesize: bits you can add your own resolutions. Hopefully this guide helps.

WOW, this looks amazing. Great job as always! The easy swap between grid and horizontal layout was really neat. I have yet to test Playnite 9 but when I do I'll be sure to check this out!

This theme is only for Playnite 9. I'm guessing you have tried to install it on Playnite 8?

Playnite 9 is only in Beta at the moment and shouldn't be installed over your current version of Playnite, it should be installed as a second instance, so follow the guides for that carefully.
But yes you're right, my Playnite 8 themes do not work on Playnite 9. I will be upgrading PS5ish and XBOXSERIESish to Playnite 9. The others I may do in the future.

Also, when logos are activated, there's no fallback to plain text for the games without logo. But I don't know is that can be fixed.

Besides of that, this will be my go on theme from now.

Can you raise an issue on GitHub about the centering of the logo please?

I love this theme. I recently found Playnite and this will be my main theme. I have one suggestion to make.

The transition between the grid views and the game detail view overlap for too long. This make it seem buggy. Its there a way for preventing the overlap of the pages? it might be the transition animation for the game details view that is causing the overlap.

How do I officially add filter icons? I added some custom ones to the FilterIcons folder in the theme folder but was harshly reminded that the folder is wiped clean on updates. Do I need to keep copies around for updates to the theme or is there a folder outside of the Theme folder where I can place them?

Unfortunately that will happen. There is a section on the post that explains this. Please look for it under installation. Also I've started adding a big disclaimer in the changelog that it will wipe your icons when updating.

Thanks! I figured that might be the case and it was my fault for not making backups when I knew this was how Playnite behaved. I'd submit the icons but they are rather specific for me so even if I gave them more generic names I'd still have to go into the folder every update and rename them to match my filter names.

It's fine if they're just specific to you. As along as they are not the name of any already there I'll add them in.

i got this configurated the way it looks in your Video, its amazing great work !

but after a system restart, the theme wont load anymore. get the error message "Theme failed to load proberly" switching between default and modern ui dont fix this. need to deinstall and install playnite again to get it working again.

If you can replicate the error and then send your Playnite log I can look into it.

it happened again, after shutdown and started the PC. Where to find the log file ?
