The extension doesn't seem to be working properly for me. It shows achievements and time but not games. I went through multiple themes but it's always like this only. I don't have any of the unsupported options selected in the settings

Right click - Enter edit mode - Add view.
See if that works. Maybe the other views were removed during an update or when switching themes.

I tried 'remove view' and added game shelves back and it changed nothing at all

Could you go to Add-Ons (F9) -> Installed -> Generic -> StartPage -> Data folder and upload the config.json file in that folder?
Also the playnite.log file would probably be useful. You should find it in %APPDATA%\Playnite or your installation folder if you are using a portable installation.

Try the following:
- Update StartPage to version 2.3
- exit Playnite
- delete the config.json file
- launch Playnite

This will revert all your settings for StartPage, but I think it should also create the shelves properly. Also, the unsupported options should not have any effect on this.

Just saw the new update that adds the ability to add shelves in multiple panels, thanks for that. Great job with quickly implementing new stuff. Unfortunately shelves in different panels don't filter out duplicates. Is this something that can be fixed?

And another thing, is it possible to add sorting by recently installed or does playnite not store this information?

Filtering duplicates across shelve instances could probably be done, but the order in which that happens would be up to chance.

And as far as I know Playnite does not explicitly store the installation date.

When background selection is set to Random, the background changes if Playnite is restarted. Would it be possible to preserve the background from the previous session instead?

I like to cycle through random backgrounds manually by setting the selection to Random and Refresh Interval to 0. This way, the background only changes when I tell it to using "Next Random Background". The random change after a restart interferes with that and forces me to switch backgrounds when I don't want to.

Some users might actually prefer a new randomly chosen background with each start, so maybe its best to make my proposed change optional, or make it the default but only when Refresh Interval is set to 0.

One small change I'd like to see is to the buttons that appear on the cards in the game shelves. They have a play/install and an i button, which is good, but often I think I'm hiting the play button but I've actually hit the back of the card which counts it as being the i. That's the right approach to be safe, but it's still annoying to have the wrong action happen.

What I think would be a good fix is making the zone for hitting the play button bigger AND, most importantly, CHANGING THE COLOR of the button that we're hovering over. This would make it real clear which button we're about to activate

Here's how I have StartPage setup. I'm really happy with it. I do see games on the shelf flickering between two choices occasionally, although I haven't seen it for sure with the latest version.

With today's update (check comment date, I don't remember wich version this is) StartPage uninstalled right after I pressed the "update" button. Just wanted to let you know.. anyway all my configurations are still there after reinstalling the plugin.. no big deal it seems, yet it's weird and that's why I decided to let you know this issue. Thanks for adding the button highlight color!

It's only part of what I wanted though. It's still kind of annoying that the play button's "hitbox" is such a small area. Would be nice if it was enlarged.

Also, having the i button highlighted when you mouse over it is a bit weird since clicking anywhere else on the cover will essentially do the same thing. The i button should be highlighted when you hover over any part of the card since it's the same functionality

I love this plugin. Was wondering if there was a way to expand the "recently played" games view so that you can have more than 3 entries? Ideally I'd like 6, and I've cleared the space for it.

Nice! Is the Random shelf view something that you developed? Will it be be included in a future version of StartPage?

It's already included in the latest version. It is not a separate view though. You can make any shelve random by setting its sorting option to random.
