Different emulators - can I specify a ROM to use a specific emulator?

I have a set of two games (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red/Blue Rescue Team) with two ROMs on different emulators. I'd like to add them both as the same entry.

I added the two separate ROMs under Installation, and created two emulator actions:

When I start, I get the option to pick between the two games, which I want. But I get four entries, both games on both emulators:

I'm not sure what to do here. I checked both of the emulator profiles and neither of them had the others' extension in supported file types. I tried overriding the arguments to give it the ROM path directly and still got four entries. Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks.

There's currently now way how to configure this, since you have more ROMs assigned Playnite will give you all these options.

I guess the only option would be to remove assigned ROMs and set them directly in emulators arguments for each Play action.

I was able to workaround this by setting a "file" action to point to the emulators, and the arguments to the ROM path. It seems to work, but I'm not sure if I'm missing any features by doing it. I'll try moving the ROM path to emulator arguments though.

EDIT: Removing the ROMs from the Install tab and putting them as arguments worked. Smile

For what it's worth, I'm doing the same thing with grouping versions of games under one game listing to reduce spam or duplicates, and I've found that the best way to do this is by using powershell or .bat scripts. I tell Playnite that my script is a Play Action file, meanwhile I have my script launch the correct emulator and ROM combination. I admit that it's a little tedious, but it should be fine if you have a curated collection.
