Longshot Feature Idea: Ability to download and display screenshots from Steam

Hi,

I've been using Playnite for about a month now and loving it! Thanks to all the amazing developers.

One feature that I thought would be cool to have is the ability to display screenshots from the Steam Store (or elsewhere) above the game description. I have no idea how difficult this would be to implement. It seems non-trivial. 

The Extra Metadata Loader extension already provides the ability to download videos and logo from various sources, so presumably it could be enhanced to download screenshots from Steam. Then I guess it's up to the theme developers to display this information somehow.  

I attached before/after images of what I'm thinking of, roughly speaking.

The user would have control of the maximum number of images to download per game. The images could be stored in the Extra Metadata folders or cached (and flushed) to preserve space. The images would be expandable and scrollable just like they are on the Steam Store pages.

If I have understood your description correctly, you want something like this:

<Download Images From Steam>  +  <Store Images on local (by game)>  +  <Display stored images for game above Description (in Details view)>

What is your question? Are you:

1. asking whether this is even possible?
   
2. asking for help creating this?
   
3. requesting a developer to make this for you?
   

If you asking whether this is possible:
The first 2 components are certainly possible (I once wrote an extension that downloads images from Steam and stores them by game)
The last component (displaying stored images above game Description) would be a question for a custom theme developer.

I was mainly looking to see if any developers were interested in implementing this feature since I don't have the technical know-how to do it myself.

Having said that, I managed to cobble something together to achieve the desired effect by adding the ability to download Steam images to ExtraMetadataLoader and using Screenshot Visualizer to display them.

It's a very kludgy solution, but good enough for now.
